PCLL Supplementary Exams

First of all, you must appreciate the awesome powers that each of those (not-so-charming, book-worm-looking) lecturers possess. They, literally, can make or break you... I think one must remain humble towards them all the time.... having a smart-ass attitude towards them or your PCLL 'colleagues' (e.g. either (1) complaining that a certain lecturer lacks charm or can't speak clearly.... or (2) wondering to yourself during advocacy class / SGS's on a follow student's ability to be practice LAW because of that person's apparent weakness in public speaking and/or lack of self-confidence) is a COMPLETE NO-NO! I remember questioning a fellow student's ability to practice law upon graduation soley basing my old-fashioned prejudice on his inability to speak without making any grammatical error and his inability to make his presence felt in class... BOY, was I wrong or what?!?!? That person MAKE THE DISTINCTION LIST!!! Whilst my sorry ass is due to make its sad appearance at HKU in August!

Third, I think it's about having good exam techniques... I've gone over my papers... and you know what I found?!? It's not that I didn't understand the question or didn't address the relevant issues... I didn't pass because I failed to WRITE IN A STYLE that would warrant marks!!! I think my fatal flaw was that I have -- wrongfully -- assumed that the marker would know what I am talking about.... so, I didn't address those issues at the level of 'attention to details' that would have given me marks... My answers were a bit too general.... and if they couldn't spot some of those "keywords".... I won't be given the marks! So, if you want to score high marks, you'd better make sure that YOU ANSWER EACH EXAM QUESTION AS IF THOSE BASTARDS MARKING YOUR PAPER ARE FUC*-ING RETARDS!
