"PCLL is regarded as demanding; indeed it is considered to be the most difficult in the University [of Hong Kong]." --- The Report "The practical stage of legal education" by Law Society of Hong Kong.

PCLL ? BVC ?

I checked the web sites yesterday. There are 3-4 law schools that offer distance learning LPC/BVC in England. But distance learning within England only. I asked one of the schools if I could join from HK. But they have not answered. I really do not mind doing a distance learning BVC with one of the UK schools.

For BVC you need a 2:2. For LPC a pass will do. Please check www.ukcle.ac.uk/directory/lpc.html for UK schools offering LPC via distance learning.

They are the College of law, De Montfort U and the University of the West of England.

I looked again just now and may be I made a mistake regarding BVC distance learning. The 3 law school may only do LPC via distance learning. Sorry !

What's wrong with HK ???? Like a City U PCLL. The fees for 1 year full time is around HK$100,000 plus quitting your job. Say if you earn around 25,000 a month then your total opportunity costs is HK$400k+ plus promotion within your own company or industry. Think twice before you jump. I prefer part time pcll but there are not enough places around perhaps. Why ? I am sure law schools would love to offer more part time pcll places for money. There must be other political reasons.

As a student I want more part time pcll places. But one day if I become a solicitor or barrister I may feel differently just to protect my rice bowl.
